Our Christmas Memories

Amanda's holiday memory
My grandmother always had a stocking for each of her numerous grandchildren. There were other things inside, but she always included fruit in each one.

One of my favorite childhood memories is my brother and I piling into the backseat of the car after dark as our parents took us riding around to look at outdoor Christmas lights.

By far my favorite Christmas movie is National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Our family’s tradition is to watch, laugh and recite almost every line of the movie while we’re decorating the tree. We then watch it again that night with the tree lit.

These are my favorite Christmas movies. Both of these hit home with people trying their hardest to do the right thing and still something funny stopping them.

I have so many Christmas memories. Near the top has to be the Christmas I received a Stretch Armstrong. I was always curious about what Stretch was made of. My second favorite was the original Pong Video Game.

One of my favorite childhood memories is the pressed popcorn decorations that were popular in the late 60s and early 70’s. Rudolph was my favorite.

Megan and kids
As a child my family would watch A Christmas Story on repeat on Christmas Eve and eat Chinese food like the scene from the movie. We would quote "You'll shoot your eye out" and “fra-gee-lay”! Now as an adult, with children of my own, we carry on the tradition with 24 hours of A Christmas Story and Chinese food for dinner.

Every year, we watch 24 hours of A Christmas Story. “He’s smiling at me!”

My father was the best bow-maker when wrapping presents. He had fun playing with curling ribbon and figuring out new designs every year.

My Christmas memories are racing around to visit all of the different parts of the family in different places.
