RMA Completes Project for North Carolina State Bar

North Carolina State Bar

RMA was brought on board by the North Carolina State Bar Association and CJMW Architecture to design a new state-of-the-art security system for the new facility that was under construction in downtown Raleigh. The security system consisted of access control, video surveillance and intrusion detection. RMA designed these systems into one integrated security management system (SMS). The SMS is configured such that all ancillary systems are interfaced and managed by the SMS.

Our objective in this project was to provide a security design based upon the information gathered from the North Carolina State Bar regarding the design and the day-to-day operations of the facility. Once the design was complete, the North Carolina State Bar utilized RMA’s project management team to oversee the project and assist with the coordination between the security integration company and the other associated contractors working on-site. At the completion of the installation of the security systems, RMA commissioned the entire security related systems to verify and confirm that they worked and operated as designed. One of the aspects of the security system design was that the systems would be monitored and controlled via browser-based clients in lieu of thick clients or workstations with third-party software. This was very useful to them especially since they are able to monitor the video cameras from multiple locations.

CJMW Architecture designed the North Carolina State Bar’s new headquarters building to be located in Raleigh’s State Government Complex at the corner of Edenton and Blount Streets. The $16 million, 4-story and approximately 60,000 square foot building will house offices for the North Carolina State Bar, a state agency charged with the regulation of the state’s licensed attorneys.
