Pat King and Linda Beverly presented The Aftermath of Workplace Violence: A Victim’s Perspective at the ASIS 56th Annual Seminar and Exhibits. Linda Beverly told her story of the loss of her husband and how it affected and changed her life. In today’s environment security is often a shared responsibility between facility and security management. The IFMA Foundation funded an extensive study of workplace violence and published a very informative report dedicated to the memory of David Beverly, Linda’s husband. With that document as a basis, Mrs. Beverly was joined by Pat King, CPP, in presenting ideas to create a safer workplace. Their objective was to show that changes in policies and practices can make a difference in morale, costs and lives.

The ASIS 56th Annual Seminar and Exhibits was held October 12-15, 2010, in Dallas, Texas. The seminar is the world’s most comprehensive educational and networking event in the security industry, offering:

  • More than 175 high-quality and insightful educational sessions on every aspect of security.
  • Exhibits featuring the latest security technology and innovations and providing a forum for 800 companies to demonstrate the cutting-edge security products and services that are shaping the security industry today.
  • Access to more than 20,000 security professionals from across the industry and around the world.
