What do you enjoy most about your role in security?
The thing I enjoy most about my role in security is the partnerships I develop with my clients. I enjoy the opportunities and challenges we share whether it is an investigation, security assessment or audit, working through a workplace violence issue, or employee development through training. I get a natural high when I am a part of the team that is successful in making the workplace more secure through its people, processes, and technology. I like to think through threats that face us as individuals and companies and put in place practical countermeasures to confront these threats.
What is your greatest security concern?
My greatest security concern is workplace violence and a client’s ability to deal with such an issue. Many companies have limited security resources and a lack of policies and procedures to help them work through a workplace violence issue. As a result, they are extremely vulnerable and their greatest asset (employees) is at risk.
