Effective January 1, 2012, all PPSB license holders must have completed 12 hours of approved continuing education credit to qualify for license renewal. RMA has developed training programs that are relevant to practice as a private investigator and protection and security professional and is offering these in one day seminars across the state. Our goal is to provide opportunities for licensees to obtain the required CEU’s and to provide interesting and relevant instruction on protection and investigative topics.
These one day programs provide six hours of CEU credit and consist of three topics offered at different locations in North Carolina. The seminars will also provide an opportunity to meet and network with colleagues from across the state. Our objective is to produce convenient training programs with sufficient regularity for licensees to completely fulfill the 12 CEU requirement for renewal before the end of 2011 and each year thereafter.[box]
Topics approved for credit:
Security Concepts and Elements of Physical Security (2 hours)
Legal Issues for Private Investigators (2 hours)
Executive Protection – Philosophy, Planning and Operations (2 hours)
Compliance and Ethics with Jim Blackburn (3 hours)
Computer Forensics for Investigators – Understanding the New Tool (1 hour)
Security Planning for Catastrophic Emergencies (2 hours)
Interviewing and Detecting Deception with Don Rabon (3 hours)
Surveillance 101 – Basic Skills, Techniques and Equipment Considerations (2 hours)[/box]
Other programs are being developed for submission to PPSB for approval for 2012 and beyond. We are very interested in and wish to solicit input from licensees about useful and interesting topics RMA could develop for future presentations.
