At the request of Nia Singletary, an intern at RMA and a student at Meredith College along with her team members Melinda Maldonado, Alejandra Patrick, and Michelle Ramirez, Christine Peterson presented “Targeting Our Assets” as part of the International Business program at Meredith College. Stephanie Hurt, Ph.D., Associated Professor of Strategic and International Management had charged the class to partner with a business professional to explore “real life” business examples of international business. After Nia, Melinda, Alejandra and Michelle made their presentation on economic espionage, Chris was able to draw from her experience as a security professional to specifically apply the concepts to companies and governments with “real life” examples, target methods, and estimated losses. She was also able to illustrate to the class and future business leaders that security programs are not a cost center but instead a framework for business stability and prosperity.
Chartered in 1891, Meredith College is one of the largest independent private women’s colleges in the U.S. Meredith also offers coeducational graduate programs in business, education and nutrition, as well as post-baccalaureate certificate programs in pre-health and business, a dietetic internship program, a didactic program in dietetics and a paralegal program. Meredith’s programs – undergraduate and graduate — challenge each individual student to think deeply, push hard, discover new strengths and grow even stronger. Meredith has been cited as one of the “best colleges” in the region and the country by U.S. News & World Report, The Princeton Review and Forbes.com.
