ASIS International – Chapter 119 held its first annual training conference on August 1, 2012, at the PNC Arena in Raleigh, NC. Kevin McQuade from RMA assisted Ken Kendra, Chapter Chairman, with acquiring guest speakers and coordinating their speaking times and topics. Mike Epperly from RMA presented Analysis of Social Media Monitoring Software and Apps for Investigative and Security Purposes. There were approximately 90 attendees representing more than 50 companies.
Alan Borntrager, Director of Security and Safety at SAS Institute, presented Developing the Talent and Business Acumen Pipeline for the Next Generation of CSO’s. Tom Smith, UNC Healthcare, presented Responding to and Managing Security Related Regulatory (CMS, TJC, OSHA) Investigations in Healthcare. David Swint, Founder and President of Paragon Inc., presented Technical Surveillance – A MacGyver Approach. Local security vendors and suppliers demonstrated their products and services. Lunch was provided by the PNC Arena, courtesy of the attending exhibitors.
