ASIS International Chapter 119 held its 7th annual training conference on June 18 at the PNC Arena. Four guest speakers spoke on several key topics related to the security industry.
The topics included:
- “Civil Unrest and Security” presented by Special Agent Mike Harper and Analyst Loren Martin of the NCSBI
- “The unique danger on infant abductions from both healthcare facilities as well as other locations” presented by Paul Lockwood, Former Security Director for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children
- “Security in high-risk environments: A case study on Columbia” presented by Tony Tomlinson, Chief Operating Officer for D4C Projects
- “Insider Threat and Fraud Prevention” presented by Juan Cuartea-Ochoa, NC Education Lottery
Approximately 60 security professionals from around the area attended the conference. Attendees gained knowledge on some of the latest technology in the security industry because fifteen sponsors had set up booths to display their products and services.
