What are some notable or memorable projects?
In 2005, I was afforded the exciting opportunity to help lead the construction, security design and activation process of Clarian North Medical Center, which at that time was the most technologically-advanced, state-of-the-art medical facility in the country. Now called IU Health North, this $175 million, 627,157 square foot, 170 bed, medical center, located in Carmel, Indiana, conceived and executed the forward-thinking, powerful notion to create a preeminent medical facility whose common goal was to nurture the body, mind, and spirit one patient, one department at a time. Helping to develop and launch this innovative health care philosophy – where every single employee was empowered to be part of the interactive care team for every patient and their families – was one of my most exhilarating and rewarding work experiences.

What do you enjoy most about your role in security?
One of the many things I enjoy about my role is having the opportunity to use my knowledge and experiences to help others in the field. Being able to provide valued support and effect change for security leaders and to do it in a way that becomes an asset – not a threat – is a powerful motivator. The need to provide safe and secure working environments knows no boundary and has no competition. I enjoy having the opportunity to share my experiences and best practice methodologies to further meet the challenges faced by security professionals.
